As I sat listening to the stories that other clients and AIM employees told, I was struck by their sincerity and the seriousness with which they approached trying to make a difference in their community.
I always seem to start off the holiday season with great hopes for a marvelous, sentimental Christmas, filled with baking, tree-trimming, Christmas music and present wrapping.
The goal is to make at least 100 packets, each containing razors, new socks, gloves, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, Kleenex packets, small flashlights with batteries and travel-size shampoo and soap. The clients and staff of AIM have also taken on the task of reaching out into the community to solicit donations.
AIM client Nicole Rogers is proud of the work that she and her peers at AIM are doing.
Among those contributing to the project included the Nevada County Food Bank, [adult school] H.S. FOOTBALL: LFC players named to Class AAA and Class A all-state teams (0) 2011-12-27 14:36:25 Golden Empire Nursing and Rehab Center, Dr. Greg Moulton, Alta Service Coordinators and friends and mily of AIM and Associates clients and staff.

The bottom line, according to AIM Owner/Director Janet Brandon, is that AIM helps its clients to achieve their full potential.

But this holiday season, AIMs clients are also giving back to their community by helping those who have no place to live.
So it was nice to sit down this week with the good folks from AIM and Associates to talk about their holiday season project, meant to help those who have very little. It was just what I needed to help recalibrate my feelings about the holiday season, not sweating the small stuff and being grateful for the many blessings I enjoy.
